I really believe that title. Diagnostic Clinic of Longview is a large multi-specialty group practice in Longview, Texas (about 85,000 in town with around 200,00 in the service area), that is the dominant primary care provider in Northeast Texas.
We need another pediatrician, and if you're willing to work hard you can absolutely financially smoke all the people with whom you did residency. If you're looking for a $250,000 a year gig where you are told when to vacation and can rush to the parking garage at 5:01, we probably aren't the place for you, but if you have some drive, this place can't be beaten.
We've got a large OB/Gyn section from which to draw referrals, and we're the "brand" of choice in the area. You can't help but have a full schedule. Just as importantly, we have a complete panel of ancillary services, on which you profit. We have a very large and complex lab, pathology, full imaging (MRI/CT included), durable medical equipment (for all those nebulizers and valved holding chambers), and more.
The trick to succeeding here is coming in with a smile, and taking all the referrals you're given. If you try to pick and choose and only want to work half-days on Thursday and not at all on Friday then you fall to the bottom of the list. If you work well with the OBs, answer your cell when another doc calls, don't complain about staying til 5:30 if someone at the hospital or from the clinic really needs you to see their nephew today, and just have a "go get em" attitude in general you're going to crush MGMA. We have pediatricians here who have P&Ls that don't even show up on MGMA. Of course, we've had a few who barely made a living because they wouldn't take a medicaid patient, or wouldn't work Friday afternoons, or whatever. It's all up to you, but the win is there for the taking. We help of course, and we can give you a guarantee to get you going, and market you, but after you buy in as a shareholder (about a year out, at a cost of around $10,000) you're your own little corporatoin, but with the support of the organization.
Longview is a quiet, clean place where you can't buy an Hermes tie or a Louis Vuitton bag, but you can hike, bike, fish, and raise a family, and if you want the big city lights we're only 2 hours from Dallas and one hour from Shreveport, Louisiana.
If any of this sounds interesting, send me a text or an email and I'll load your number into my phone and give you a call.
