Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients, families using nursing interventions in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status. Essential duties include:
-Patient documentation, direct patient care, assessment
-Medication administration, discharge planning, community resource referral and education
-Actively participates in the quality improvement process.
-Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients, customers. Initiates and maintains positive relationships with co-workers.
-Takes responsibility for self development and supports a learning environment. -Displays commitment to the mission of the hospital and its values.
-Thorough knowledge of nursing process and practice.
-Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies, ie. Stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices.
-Demonstrates a professional demeanor when responding to patients.
-1 year of RN experience required. Previous ED experience strongly preferred.
-Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Minimum of Diploma, Associates Degree in nursing from accredited program.
RN - Registered Nurse Current BLS Provider Certification, issued by the American Heart Association, must be obtained during Nursing Orientation
